We're rolling this feature out in stages, so it may not be available in your account yet. Once it is, you can manage your Watchlist Alerts using the steps below.
Your watchlist keeps the assets you care about front and centre.
Watchlist Alerts take this a step further by notifying you when your chosen assets move within a 24-hour window, so you can stay across the market without constantly checking the platform.
What Are Watchlist Alerts?
Watchlist Alerts is a feature that sends you an email notification when an asset on your watchlist moves up or down by a set percentage within 24 hours.
When you add an asset to your watchlist, its alert is switched on by default, using our Automatic setting.
You can change this at any time:
Automatic (Recommended): we set the alert percentages for you, adjusted to best fit current market conditions.
Manual: you choose your own alert percentages, so you're notified only at the movements that matter to you.
You can turn alerts on or off for individual assets from your watchlist, or disable them for your whole account at once from your profile settings.
How to Manage Alerts for an Asset
Go to your Dashboard and scroll down to your watchlist.
Locate the asset on your watchlist and select the alert icon.
Switch Watchlist alert on or off. When it's on, choose how you'd like your alerts set:
Automatic: no further setup needed. We'll keep your alert percentages aligned with market conditions.
Manual: select from the available alert percentages to build your own set of alerts.
Select Save alerts.
With Manual alerts, you can add up to 5 alert percentages per coin, mixing smaller percentages for more frequent alerts with larger ones for bigger moves only.
Managing Alerts Globally
You can turn Watchlist Alerts on or off for your entire account from your profile settings:
Go to Profile
Select or scroll down to Other settings
Toggle Watchlist Alerts on or off.
When this setting is off, you won't receive watchlist alert emails for any asset, regardless of your individual asset settings.
Managing Alerts from Your Emails
Each watchlist alert email includes a link at the bottom to manage your preferences without logging into the platform.
Click Manage watchlist alerts or unsubscribe to unsubscribe from alerts for all assets featured in that email at once.
How Alerts Work
Alerts are triggered by price movement within a 24-hour window, in either direction.
Prices are based on the buy price, the cost to purchase the asset on Digital Surge.
When movement occurs, you'll receive an email notification to the address associated with your Digital Surge account.
Each alert is specific to the asset that moved, so you'll know exactly which one to look at.
If multiple alerts fire within a short period of time, they'll be batched into a single email so you're not flooded with notifications.
When setting Manual alerts, you can choose from: ±1%, ±2%, ±3%, ±4%, ±5%, ±6%, ±7%, ±8%, ±9%, ±12%, ±15%, ±18%, ±20%, ±25%, ±30%, ±40%, ±50%, ±75%, ±100%. You can select up to 5 per asset.
Things to Keep in Mind
You'll need to have the relevant asset on your watchlist to receive alerts for it. You can add an asset by selecting the star icon on its Buy/Sell page or coin page, or see How to Manage Your Crypto Watchlist for more ways to add assets.
Automatic alert percentages may change over time as market conditions change.
