The minimum age to create a Digital Surge account is 16 years old.

To create an account, a full identity check is required. You’ll need one of the following:

1. Australian or New Zealand Driver's Licence

  • All Australian and New Zealand driver licences are accepted, including learner permits and probationary licences.

  • Disqualified and suspended licences are also eligible, provided they are still active.

2. Australian or New Zealand Passport

  • Australian and New Zealand passports are accepted for verification.

  • The passport must be valid and not expired.

3. Australian Photo ID with a Valid Medicare Card

  • A combination of an Australian photo ID and a valid Medicare card can be used to complete your account verification.

  • Please note that Proof of Age cards and Photo Cards are not accepted as identification for requesting crypto sends, as they cannot be verified via the DVS (Document Verification Service). As part of our policy, we are therefore unable to accept them.

4. International Passport with a Valid Australian Visa

  • Expired international passports are accepted if the associated Australian Visa is valid.

  • Verification is based on your visa details, not the passport itself.

  • Ensure you enter your name exactly as it appears on your Visa Grant Notice.

Account Restrictions for Users Under 18

If you are under 18 years old, your account will have restrictions that prevent external cryptocurrency sends. You will be able to apply for crypto sends once you turn 18.
