Most AUD deposit delays occur before the funds reach Digital Surge. Banks may apply additional security checks to crypto-related payments or process transfers using standard banking methods, which can take longer than expected.

This article explains the most common bank-related reasons for AUD deposit delays and what you can do next.

Common reasons for delayed AUD deposits

1. Bank security checks for crypto-related payments

Some banks apply additional security or fraud checks when processing payments to cryptocurrency exchanges.

These checks may cause short delays while your bank:

  • Reviews the transaction

  • Confirms the payment is authorised

  • Applies internal crypto-related controls

These checks happen before funds are released and are outside of Digital Surge’s control.

2. Bank processing times

While many AUD deposits are processed instantly, some banks send transfers via a standard bank transfer instead of a real-time payment method.

When this occurs, your deposit may take up to 1 business day to be received by Digital Surge, even when all payment details are correct.

This processing method is determined by your bank.

3. Name mismatch or third-party payments

For security and compliance reasons, AUD deposits must be made from a bank account in your own name.

Your deposit may be delayed if:

  • The bank account name does not match your Digital Surge account name

  • The payment was sent from a joint, business, or third-party account

These deposits may require additional review before they can be credited to your account.

4. Bank or PayID outages

Occasionally, delays can occur due to temporary issues at your bank, such as:

  • Bank outages

  • PayID service disruptions

  • Technical maintenance

Deposits usually process automatically once these issues are resolved.

What should I do if my deposit is delayed?

If your AUD deposit hasn’t appeared yet, we recommend:

  1. Confirming the payment has been successfully sent from your bank

  2. Allowing up to 1 business day for bank security checks or processing

  3. Ensuring the deposit was made from a bank account in your own name
