Setting up your SMSF account on Digital Surge is a simple process designed to get you trading fast.

Before you begin verifying your Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) account, make sure you have the following documents and details ready:

What You Will Need

Before beginning verification, make sure you have the following documents and details ready:

  • SMSF name, ABN and registered SMSF address

  • Full SMSF Trust Deed, typically around 60 pages and showing all trustees and members

  • Trustee information, including valid photo ID such as a passport or driver’s licence

  • ASIC Company Extract if you have a corporate trustee

Step 1: Create Your Account

Go to the Sign-Up page.

Enter your email address and password.
Select Create Your Account.

Step 2: Confirm Your Email

Navigate to your Dashboard.
Select the verification link sent to your email to confirm your email address.

Step 3: Select Account Type

On your dashboard, choose the account type you would like to set up.
Select SMSF as your account type.
You will then be prompted to verify your mobile number.

Step 4: Gather Required Documents

A pop up screen will outline the documents needed for SMSF verification.
Confirm you have everything ready before continuing.

Step 5: Provide SMSF Details

Enter your SMSF name and ABN.
Enter the registered SMSF address.
Upload the full SMSF Trust Deed.
The deed must clearly show all trustees and members.

Step 6: Informed Consent

You will see an informed consent message explaining that Digital Surge will check your details with official records to confirm your identity.
After reviewing the message, tick the box to provide your consent then select Next to continue.

Step 7: Verify Trustee Information

For Individual Trustees

Enter each trustee’s full name exactly as it appears in the Trust Deed.

For Corporate Trustees

Enter the business name and ABN or ACN of the corporate trustee.
Upload the ASIC Company Extract for the corporate trustee.

Tip: If you do not have an ASIC extract, you can purchase one for $10 by searching your ABN or ACN under Organisation and Business Names on the ASIC website. The extract will be emailed to you as a PDF.

Step 8: Add Members

Add all trustees and members of the SMSF.
If you need to add additional members, select Add Member.
Once all members have been added, select Finish to complete verification.

Step 9: Submission Confirmation

A confirmation screen will appear indicating that your application has been submitted.

What Happens Next?

SMSF account approvals are usually completed within 24 hours.
You will receive a confirmation email once your account has been verified.
After verification, you can begin trading, depositing and withdrawing.

All SMSF accounts also have access to account statements and full transaction history, which can be shared with your accountant or SMSF provider for reporting and compliance purposes.
