Doing your crypto taxes doesn’t need to be complicated. Koinly automates this process so you don’t need to stress. Koinly is an easy-to-use crypto tax calculator that can help you generate a tax report for you to complete your taxes.

You can easily connect your Digital Surge account to Koinly for coin tracking and tax reporting. The easiest way to connect your account is through the API integration. Alternatively you can upload your trades history by downloading your transactions to CSV.

How to setup API integration with Koinly

Step 1: Go to koinly.io and log in or create an account

Step 2: Add your Digital Surge wallet to Koinly

If you are going through the process of setting up your Koinly account, you will be prompted to select a platform to connect. Simply search for Digital Surge and select it.

Step 3: Automate your portfolio tracking

After you have selected your wallet, you will be prompted to import the data from your existing wallet.

Click ‘setup auto-sync’ so that your transaction will be imported to Koinly automatically.

Step 4: Enter your API Key

After you have selected auto-sync, you will need to enter an API key to complete the import.

To retrieve this, you will need to go into your Digital Surge account and click on the three horizontal lines on the top right of your dashboard so that your drop down menu appears.

Once your drop down menu is on your screen, click the ‘API Key’ box.

Here, you will need to select ‘Create a new API key’.

You will arrive at the following screen, please ensure you click ‘Read only’ and then click next.

You will then be prompted to enter your 2FA code to continue to the final page.

Once you have confirmed your 2FA, you will be presented with your API key. Please copy this code and select finish.

Step 5:

Paste this code back into the empty box on your Koinly page.

Once you have filled the above text box, you can press ‘Secure Import’ to commence the import from the beginning of your transaction history.

Now that you’re all setup with Koinly, you can simply select the Tax Report tab and choose the year required to generate a tax report.

How to manually upload your CSV history to Koinly

You can also manually upload your trading history by exporting your Digital Surge transactions to CSV.

Step 1:

Go to your Transaction History in your Digital Surge account and select the Export history dropdown, then choose Transaction history.

Step 2:

Select the CSV file option followed by Export History. This will download the file for you.

Step 3:

Go to Koinly.io and sign in if you already have an account, or create a new account

Once signed in, go to your dashboard and select 'start'.

Search for Digital Surge in the search bar and simply select Digital Surge.

Step 4:

Select Import From File

Upload the CSV file you downloaded from your Digital Surge account then select Import

Once it has finished processing, you should get confirmation that it was complete.

Once complete, select view full summary, to see your Tax Statement, and that is all!
