How to Change Your Phone Number

This guide will show you how to update the mobile number associated with your Digital Surge account.

Written by Johnny

A verified mobile number is essential for security and verification, so it is important to keep your details up to date.

Updating your mobile number

For security reasons, Digital Surge requires a biometric verification process before your mobile number can be changed. This ensures the request is legitimate and helps protect your account from unauthorised access.

You can update your mobile number yourself directly from your Profile. You'll need to complete an identity check (powered by Sumsub) involving a photo ID and a short liveness test.

How to update your phone number

  1. Navigate to Your Profile
From your dashboard, select the three horizontal lines in the top right corner to open the menu, then select Profile.

  2. Select Change Number
On your Profile page, select Change number, then select Start verification.

  3. Continue on Your Mobile

    • If you're in the app: you'll be taken straight to the verification page — select Continue to proceed.

    • If you're on web: select Start verification on phone, then either copy the link or scan the QR code to continue on your phone.

  4. Complete ID + Liveness Verification
Have your ID handy (Driver's Licence or Passport) and complete a quick liveness test.

  5. Enter Your New Number
Once verification is successful, enter your new mobile number and select Send SMS.

  6. Confirm the Code
Enter the 6-digit code sent to your new mobile number to complete the update.

Not receiving the SMS code?

If you're not receiving the verification SMS, this can sometimes happen with unsupported international numbers, carrier delays, or numbers on a do-not-disturb/spam filter list. Try the following:

  1. Double-check the number entered is correct, including the country code.

  2. Wait a few minutes, then use the resend option if available.

  3. Check your phone isn't blocking unknown senders or has SMS forwarding/DND enabled.

If you've tried the above and still haven't received a code, please contact our support team so we can assist further.
