The Reserved Balance is used for all POLi deposits in order to allow you to deposit and trade instantly. As POLi deposits are sent over the older bank network, the payments take 1-2 business days to be cleared. However, by using the Reserved Balance system, your DS account will immediately be credited and you can start trading.
The value of your POLi deposit will be held in your Reserved Balance until the funds have been received.
The Reserved Balance is the minimum amount that needs to be in your wallet until the funds have arrived. This can be spread between both AUD and crypto. If you try to withdraw funds from your Reserved Balance a message will tell you how much you can withdraw. Confused? Let's look at how it actually works.
How does the Reserved Balance work?
If you deposit $2,000 using POLi, it will immediately be credited to your account and added to your Reserved Balance. You will be restricted from withdrawing any amount that will reduce your account balance to less than your Reserved Balance. Once the POLi payment has been cleared by our bank, the Reserved Balance will be removed from your account and you can withdraw any amount you wish.
If your account has a $10,000 balance and you then deposit $2,000 by POLi, only the $2,000 will be added to your Reserved Balance. You can still withdraw the $10,000 as long as your account balance does not go below your $2,000 Reserved Balance limit. Once the POLi deposit is cleared, your Reserved Balance will be removed and you can withdraw all of your balance.
Buying and selling cryptocurrency
You can still buy and sell crypto with your Reserved Balance. The Reserved Balance will only limit withdrawals from your wallet.
What happens if the cryptocurrency price changes?
If the value of your cryptocurrency goes above your Reserved Balance, you can withdraw the difference. The Reserved Balance is for POLi deposits only. If you deposit $2,000 and purchase Bitcoin, and the price of your Bitcoin increases to $2,500, you can immediately withdraw anything above the $2,000 Reserved Balance.
How does the Reserved Balance affect PayID deposits?
The Reserved Balance is only for POLi deposits. PayID deposits will not affect the Reserved Balance.
How does the Reserved Balance affect cryptocurrency deposits?

How can I avoid the Reserved Balance?
