Sending cryptocurrency to an external wallet may seem overwhelming if you’re new to it, but this guide will help you complete the process with confidence. Follow these steps to send crypto securely from your Digital Surge account.

Things to Consider Before Sending Crypto

  • Accuracy is Key: Ensure all transaction details, including the wallet address, tag/memo and network, are correct. Mistakes may result in the permanent loss of your assets.

  • Beware of Scams: Only send crypto to trusted wallets or platforms. Be cautious of fraudulent platforms and scams. Refer to our list of common scams for more information.

  • Network Compatibility: Ensure the receiving wallet supports the network you are using for the transaction.

Steps to Send Crypto

Step 1: Navigate to Your Wallet Page

From your Dashboard, go to your Wallet page.

Step 2: Select Send

Hover over the action button next to the cryptocurrency you wish to send and select ‘Send’.

Step 3: Enter Transaction Details

A pop-up will appear with fields to complete the transaction:

  • Sending Network: At the top, confirm that the transaction will be completed on the correct network for the receiving wallet. For example, POL must be sent on the Polygon network.

  • Address Field: Copy and paste the receiving wallet address into this field.

  • Memo/Tag (if required): Some wallet addresses require a memo or tag. Leave this field blank if not required. If a memo/tag is required.

  • Amount to Send: Specify the amount you want to send by selecting a percentage, entering the crypto amount, or using the AUD equivalent.

Once all fields are completed, check the confirmation box and click ‘Send’.

Step 4: Review Transaction Details

A confirmation screen will appear with the transaction details. Review the information carefully to ensure everything is correct. Click ‘Confirm and Send’ to proceed.

Step 5: Enter Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Enter your 2FA code, which can be retrieved from your authenticator app, to verify the transaction.

Step 6: Confirm First-Time Transactions via Email

If this is the first time sending crypto to this wallet address, you will receive a confirmation email. Open the email and click the link to finalize the transaction.

What Happens Next?

All crypto sends are automated. Once the transaction is processed on the blockchain network, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the Transaction ID.

Important Notes

  • Network Match: Ensure the receiving wallet is compatible with the network you’re using. For example, send ETH only to an Ethereum wallet on the Ethereum network.

  • Copy and Paste Details: Avoid typing wallet addresses manually. Use copy-and-paste or QR codes to prevent errors.

  • Include Memo/Tag (if required): If the receiving address requires a memo or tag, it must be included for the transaction to succeed.

Failure to follow these steps may result in the permanent loss of your crypto.
