An API key allows a 3rd party application or platform to access your transaction data or execute transactions. API keys are typically used to integrate a portfolio/tax reporting service so it can pull data to calculate your taxes.
Creating an API key on the Digital Surge app takes just a few short minutes.
Creating an API Key
Step 1: Click the drop-down menu and select API key.
Step 2: Click Create a new API Key
Step 3: You can then create Read/Write and Read Only keys. If you are unsure which type is needed, we recommend creating Read Only keys.
Step 4: You will then be asked to enter your Two-Factor Authentication Code or SMS code for security.
Step 5: Your API key will be displayed for you to copy and share with the 3rd party application. Please note that the API will only be shown once on this screen.
When you no longer need your API key it is recommended to delete it from your account.
